We are two weeks away from the end of the legislative session. I am excited to share over the coming days some exciting legislative updates. At the end of May, the House of Representatives passed the HERO ACT which is the largest investment in our veterans and their families in decades. I was proud to cast my vote in support of this bill and to announce its passage at the city of Salem’s Memorial Day ceremony. This bill includes: Expanded benefits Tax Incentives No cost veteran plates Memorials, and Recognition for the sacrifices of our Gold Star families The Senate recently took up a similar measure and the bill is now being negotiated in a conference committee. I want to thank Chair Cassidy, Speaker Mariano, and Chair Michlewitz for their leadership in passing this important bill for our veterans, and their families.

Congrats to Christian Echevarria who has been named BHS Head Varsity Wrestling Coach. Christian grew up in Beverly and wrestled from 2012-2016. He is first and only BHS Wrestler to be named state champion. He has been an Assistant Coach at BHS for the past 6 seasons.
